The Roberto Cimetta Fund and Valletta 2018 Foundation have been collaborating since 2015 to improve and increase mobility of artists in the Euro-Arab-Middle East region.
This is the second open call launched this year. Artists and cultural operators living and working in the Euro-Arab-Middle East region who wish to undertake collaborative projects and who satisfy the criteria below are invited to apply.
Initiated by Racines with the support of the Drosos foundation, the incubator of cultural and artistic structures “Racines Carrées” launches the incubation phase of the project holders after a pre-test period of 3 months.
After a presentation in front of an international jury, 12 projects were selected for the incubation phase that will last 9 months...
Aadel Essaadani and Dounia Benslimane, respectively Racines' general coordinator and its partnership and development manager, attended the Arts Festivals Summit held from 11 to 14 April 2018 in Ljubljana (Slovenia), and organized by the European Festivals Association. EFA is a network of festivals (music, dance, theatre...) created in 1952 and gathering 100 festivals from 40 countries.
From February 24th to June 30th 2018, Racines and its partners organise, within the framework of the 6th edition of “Mercredis de Racines”, the “Etats Régionaux de la Culture” in 12 regions in Morocco. The tour covers the 12 regions of Morocco in order to analyse and evaluate cultural policy in the regions that are implemented by communes and regional councils.
Racines participated to the Spring Academy organized in Valencia by Econcult (Research Unit in Cultural Economics, University of Valencia) from 5 to 8 March 2018 under the topic: "Enacting cultural democracy: the location of narratives", within the framework of trans-making project.
In partnership with the Théâtre Nomade association and with the funding of Oxfam Maroc Fundation, Racines organized an Awareness Day of Violence Against Women in Public Space on Sunday 6 May 2018 from 4.30 pm until 7 pm on the Place des Nations Unies in Casablanca.
“My Sweet School“, the 52’ documentary directed by Rajae Hammadi and Zakaria Rochdi and produced by Racines has been screened in Paris on Thursday 15th March 2018 within the framework of “Apéro Politique” of the CICP (Centre International de culture populaire) on the topic “Art and culture as tools of emancipation” ...
Within the framework of the project “SpeakArt, for the promotion of freedom of expression and the culture of accountability”, Racines organized the event “Hakwara, for the promotion of the culture of freedom of expression”, from March 22nd to 25th 2018, at Cinéma Rialto (Casablanca).
The members of Racines association for culture and development met on Saturday 28 April 2018 during their Ordinary General Assembly.
